Travel to Rotterdam by plane

The biggest airports in the Netherlands for travelers are Schiphol Airport, Eindhoven Airport, and Rotterdam-The Hague Airport. You can reach Rotterdam from any of these airports in less than 1.5 hours.

Going to Rotterdam by ferry

There are three ferry routes from the Netherlands to Great Britain. P&O Ferries connects Kingston Upon Hull to Rotterdam Europoort every day, taking around 11 hours. Stena Line operates a daily service between Harwich and Hoek van Holland, which takes less than 7 hours. Another ferry company, DFDS Seaways, has a daily connection between Newcastle and Ijmuiden, with a journey time of 17 hours. Ijmuiden port is about 33 km from Amsterdam.

Getting to Rotterdam by train

The high-speed trains of Thalys, which travel from Paris to Amsterdam, also stop in Rotterdam, as well as Brussels, Antwerp, and Amsterdam. ICE is another high-speed train company that connects Switzerland and major German cities to the Netherlands. Eurostar operates daily fast trains between Rotterdam and London. Getting to Rotterdam by road

The bus company Flixbus connects Rotterdam to more than 500 towns and cities across Europe. Their office is located near Rotterdam Central Station. This is one of the most affordable options for reaching Rotterdam but be prepared for long trips. Another budget-friendly bus company that’s gaining popularity is BlaBlaCar Bus.

Rotterdam is easy to reach by road from Germany via the A15 or A16 highways, and from Belgium via the A16. Here are some approximate distances: Brussels 143 km, Paris 450 km, London 455 km, Berlin 690 km, Milan 1000 km, Barcelona 1475 km, Madrid 1710 km.
