Kralingse Bos
Kralingse Bos is one of the largest parks in Rotterdam, covering an area of 175 hectares. It is located near Erasmus University in the Kralingen neighborhood.
This spacious green area offers a large lake, an artificial beach, a children’s pool, restaurants, picnic areas, walking paths, bike lanes, and facilities for renting sailboats and windsurfing equipment.
You’ll also find an animal farm, a canoe club, an athletics track, a horse-riding club, tree climbing activities, a windmill, a sailing school, and a marina.
The park has separate sections for nudists and dog owners. It’s a popular spot in the summer, perfect for gatherings, barbecues, and parties with friends.
Kralingse Bos gained fame in the summer of 1970 during the Holland Pop Festival, known as the “European answer to Woodstock.” Bands like Pink Floyd, The Byrds, and Santana performed there, attracting around 100,000 people.
Throughout the summer, Kralingse Bos continues to host festivals and events.
Kralingse Bos can be reached via Gerdesiaweg or Voorschoterlaan Metro stations.
