Ferry

Rotterdam can also be reached by boat from Great Britain.

There are three ferry routes operating from the Netherlands to Great Britain. The company P&O Ferries connects Kingston Upon Hull to Rotterdam Europoort daily, with a journey time of approximately 11 hours. The company Stena Line provides a daily service between Harwich and Hoek van Holland, taking just under 7 hours. Another ferry company, DFDS Seaways, offers a daily connection between Newcastle and Amsterdam (Ijmuiden).

The company P&O Ferries provides a daily connection from Kingston Upon Hull to Rotterdam Europoort, with an overnight journey, and from there, a ferry takes passengers to the center of Rotterdam. The Europort ferry terminal is located 35 kilometers from the city center of Rotterdam, easily accessible by road in less than 40 minutes following the A15.

Buses to the ferry at Rotterdam Europoort depart from the Condestraat bus terminal, next to Rotterdam Central Station.

The terminal is easy to find by car from Rotterdam. Follow the signs for Europoort on the ring road near Rotterdam and follow the signs for England on the N15. Parking is free at the terminal.

Please note that there is no public transportation to or from the Europort terminal. Bus transfers can be booked online and are available from Europort to Rotterdam. The bus departs from the port at 08:30 (Monday to Friday) and 09:45 (Saturday to Sunday). The drop-off point in Rotterdam is the Conradstraat bus station, next to Rotterdam Central Station. You will be picked up for your return journey at the same location at 18:00 in Rotterdam.

The company Stena Line operates a daily service from the port of Harwich in the United Kingdom to the port of Hoek van Holland in Rotterdam. The journey takes just under 6.5 hours. From Hoek van Holland, there are trains and metro connections to the city center, with an average travel time of half an hour.

DFDS Seaways connects Newcastle to Amsterdam (Ijmuiden) on a journey that lasts 17 hours.
